EXHIBITION IN AUMALE
Hardly has the Aumale exhibition
ended, that we are already planning the next one which will take
place in Paris in October 2006.
As usual our exhibition met with a great success.
It was held between the 2nd to 17th July in the majestic setting
of the "Halle au Beurre" (Butter Market), presided over
by the Mayor, Monsieur ¨Pierre-Marie DUHAMEL, Regional Councillor
for the Seine-Maritime, and by Foulques d'ORLÉANS, Count
of EU and Duke of AUMALE, in the presence of Monsieur Michel LEJEUNE,
Member of Parliament and Mayor of Forges-les-Eaux.
Surrounded by his Town Council and in the presence
of a large audience the Mayor welcomed the artists with warm words,
accompanied by the as warm and kind words of the Duke d'AUMALE and
Michel LEJEUNE.
He offered Marie-Michelle PERIGOT the medal of the
town, and she gave him the medal of the FICF.
Amidst photo-flashes she thanked the Mayor and the
Town-Council not forgetting Marie-Bernadette POINDEFER, originator
of the coming of the FICF to Aumale.
After having visited the exhibition at length and
admired IOANA's hanging-up, the visitors were able to taste and
excellent buffet. Afterwhich, the artists and their guests met up
for the traditional "exhibition supper".
The next day, the artistes have been received at
the Town-Hall, accompanied by a guide tour of this historically
rich town, ending up with the visit of Marie-Bernadette POIINDEFER's
studio.
Now, a few words about the exhibition: 14 countries,
52 exhibitors, 90 paintings and sculptures - hundreds of visitors
- two levels: on the ground floor the large sizes, on the first
floor the medium sizes. On this level a charming interior garden
with shrubberies and water-falls was presented to us by the landscapist
Patrice HERY. Yet another surprise: On the last day, Pierre-Marie
DUHAMEL turned up impromptu to offer a last toast to friendship
for the artists come to reclaim their works of art. Marie NAH gave
him her painting, "Eclosion" to thank the Town Council
for their hospitality.
This event enabled the SPIRIT OF THE FICF to reveal
itself: The German President came by mobile car with all the groups'
works. The Rumanian drove her artists' works by an from
Bucharest.
Annick Zimmermann brought the Greeks'. The Parisian region artists
had organized car-sharing.
In an especially friendly atmosphere, the FICF members,
of which a lot of new comers, were able to have numerous and fruitful
exchanges.
Article 2 of our Statues was thus followed down to the letter: "The
FICF organizes exhibitions and all displays to promote understanding,
agreement and friendship between women."
Happy New Year - See you in Paris on the 9th
of October 2006.
